Entitlements to discounts and free travel

A list of passengers entitled to discount travel, as well as rates of such discounts are determined by local law – a resolution adopted by the City Council. Selected groups are entitled to fare discounts on the basis of special regulations.

The following types of discount entitlements are applicable within the territory of Szczecin:

  1. Discount entitlements:
    • 50% discount,
    • discount for the senior residents,
    • discount for the unemployed,
    • family discount.
  2. Free travel entitlement.

Discounted fare entitlement

students of primary, secondary and art schools, in which the core curriculum for general education is implemented, in the scope of primary school and/or high school, respectively (does not apply to students listed in Annex 2 paragraph 1 (26)) up to the age of 23 valid school ID issued according to the form specified by the minister responsible for education and upbringing or the minister responsible for culture and national heritage
retired persons – after the age of 55, respectively – in the case of women and 60 – in the case of men, and disability pensioners valid ID card issued by the pension authority of the Republic of Poland together with a document confirming the identity
persons with hearing disabilities valid ID of the Polish Association of the Deaf with an entry confirming the disability
persons with moderate disability over 16 valid disability card issued by a competent body documenting the level of disability in accordance with the template defined by the minister in charge of social security issues together with ID card or another document confirming the identity of the entitled person
foreign school students, until they turn 26 valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or the European Youth Card EURO 26 ‘Student World’
PhD students of full-time studies valid PhD student ID card issued according to the template specified by the Minister of Science and Higher Education
discount for the senior residents
persons after the age of 67 and before 70 document confirming the identity and age of the passenger
discount for the unemployed
osoby uprawnione valid decision confirming the status of the unemployed person issued by the Poviat Labor Office and the valid visits list issued by the Poviat Labor Office along with a document confirming the identity of the passenger (the date specified in the visits list must be no earlier than 3 months before the date of ticket inspection)
family discount
family discount applies only to the families with two or more children and its value depends on the number of children entitled to the Szczecin Family Card
holders of the Szczecin Family Card up to the age of 18 or up to the age of 24 in the case when the holder is continuing the education in junior high school, high school or university Szczecin Family Card with registered entitlement to a discount together with a valid document confirming the student status
parents (legal guardians) of the children mentioned above Szczecin Family Card with registered entitlement to a discount
tourist line discount

Free travel entitlement

teachers and educators of disabled children and/or students referred to in the previous point when caring for them during transport personal certificate issued by the headmaster of the school/kindergarten

employees and former employees of the City Public Transport Organiser and Operators in Szczecin and Police document confirming the employment or – in the case of the retired persons and pensioners and former employees entitled to pre-retirement benefits – a relevant certificate
officers of the Police, Municipal Police and Border Guard valid service card
children from birth until the start of education at primary school, but not later than September of the calendar year in which the child reaches the age of eight statement of the carer
persons over the age of 70 document confirming the identity and age of the passenger
persons with complete inability to work and function on their own with their guardian (the guardian may be a person over 13, indicated by the disabled person entitled to the discount, who travels in their immediate vicinity and takes care of them during the journey) valid excerpt from the contents of the Social Insurance Fund medical doctor’s certificate (or other pension authority of the Republic of Poland) and a document confirming the identity
persons with high disability level with their guardian (the guardian may be a person over 13, indicated by the disabled person entitled to the discount, who travels in their immediate vicinity and takes care of them during the journey) valid ID or a valid decision issued by the Poviat Disability Evaluation Board and a document confirming the identity

Voluntary Blood Donors valid entitlement to free travel, in the form of a personalised Szczecin Agglomeration Card, issued by ZDiTM in accordance with the regulations set out in Appendix 1 to Resolution XLI/775/05 of the Szczecin City Council of 20 June 2005 on free travel by public transport for honorary blood donors

holders of valid 24-hour train tickets of Deutsche Bahn called: Brandenburg-Berlin-Ticket, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern-Ticket, Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket and Brandenburg-Berlin-Ticket Nacht entitling the holder to travel to Szczecin the ticket authorizes a maximum of 5 people to travel free of charge on the day of travel specified on the ticket
